Being born into a hatblockmaking family it was inevitable Steve would follow his father into the family business.  Having served 12yrs apprenticeship under John Boon learning all facets of the millinery trade, this led to him earning his directorship 11 yrs ago.  Steve has 23yrs experience within the hatblock/millinery trade.

Alan Davies

Co Director / Woodworking

Starting with metal blocks in the early 90's Alan has worked his way through thousands of shapes over some 20yrs of blockmaking.  These days the demand for wood blocks keeps him very busy carving and sanding.  He still finds time to retain his position as Boon and Lanes longest serving tea boy !!!!

Phillipa Quested (nee Lane)

Co. secretary / financial controller

Phillipa joined the family business over 30 yrs ago as secretary.  She has taken the position of company secretary and financial controller 15 yrs later.  Phillipa oversees all financial aspects of the business

Youngest member of the 'Lane' family, Gina undertakes all secretarial duties

John Boon

Co Founder / consultancy

Our company co founder with over 65yrs experience within the hat manufacture / millinery trade. John has a wealth of knowledge about the trade and although enjoying retirement can still be found in our factory on a regular basis

Peter Lane

Co Founder

Sadly missed by all at our company, Peter sucessfully oversaw production for over 30yrs, a quiet man with a passion for hatblockmaking.
